The plan to Lombok from Bali took us few days to figure it out and finally we took a local focal plane called Merpati (which I heard it is no longer operational), costs us in about Rp167,000 (around RM45) per pax.
The reason we took this plane instead of the ferry is because we've got information from a nice person from a tourist centre located beside our hotel, saying that no boat/ferry will be leaving as it is dangerous.
By the time we reach Lombok, it is noon. As suggested from one of the tourist drivers, We've decided to go directly to Gili Trawangan.
Upon reaching Gili Trawangan, one of the staff introduce us this hotel. It looks nice and clean, but i can tell you a lot of things not functioning inside, like the safe and the toilet door. There were no extra sockets for charging your devices, which means you have to unplug the sockets from the available lamps. This room costs around Rp300,000 per night. Rp250,000 without breakfast.
I remember when we reach Gili Trawangan, it started raining. You can see the streets were all flooded.
While waiting for the rain to stop, we found some shelter and took some Jagung Bakar (Barbecued corn) before we took our dinner opposite.
Like Bali, you can see a lot of workers carrying things on their head. I think their balancing is very good as they practise everyday. Who knows, their head might be tougher than the shaolin monks.
Below is the jeti where we stopped by from Lombok.
We did some snorkeling around the Gili Islands and I bought a Dri-Dock pouch here, at the Blue Marlin shop for my handphone so that I could capture some videos while i was snorkeling. It is a fantastic pouch as it really protects your handphone when you go underwater, but there is a problem. For the touch screens, you can't swipe or press anything under the water. I should have brought my old nokia phone for capturing the underseascapes. So, my advice, Don't throw your old stuffs away. It's still useful when it comes to toughness.
We didn't take the horse carts here as we found pity for the horses who worked day and night without rest. I heard the life of the horses here are very short.
The following pictures are the nice views when we go round Gili Trawanagan on the last day of stay. Nice chess set.
Nice Large chess set.
"Sea shells on the seashore".
Just an sms to our driver, En. Samsul came to pick us up at the Bangsal jeti. Along the way to our hotel, we stopped at the waterfalls at Mount Rinjani. There were 2 waterfalls. The 1st one needs about 15 minutes trekking and the 2nd one needs at least another half-an-hour and it includes crossing a river. We got to the first one but failed to get to the 2nd one as we were very tired. Low purged a lot after taking unclean food at Gili. Beware of the local guides who's trying to make money while you can trek on your own following the others. The entrance fee is only around Rp10,000 per pax. It's very easy, not like the real jungle type where you have to remember some trails or use a compass.

We had one of these in Gili too but it was raining at that time and I don't really enjoy watching how they did. |
As we're having our rest, we saw a few motorist (tourists) came by to fill petrol and this is how they fill it up.... I did not ask them how much though...
I'll stop here for now. More pictures coming soon... :)
