Getting around Hong Kong Day 1 - Wong Tai Sin & Avenue of Stars

My trip to Hong Kong was an impromptu. I only booked my flights few days before and it costs me around RM725 to and fro. From my research on the internet, I've acquired an Octopus Card (costs HK$150 with HK$100 value and a Sim Card (HK$80 for internet usage) for convenience in all my trips upon reaching the HK airport.

It was around 2-3pm after checking into the hotel at Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon. As I only had some snacks on the plane, I was pretty hungry by then. Searching for food on the internet, I finally made my way to the Mongkok East, around Fa Yuen Street for some porridge with the help of GPS. The journey to the street was quite a long search. I didn't know there were underpasses all the way to the nearest MTR station (the most convenient way of travelling in Hongkong) at first.

This is the place where I had the porridge.
Yao Char Kuai

The porridge was very good and smooth, i also ordered some Yao Char Kuai.. Bigger and crispier than what I had in Malaysia.

After the lunch, I headed to Wong Tai Sin temple, by the time I reach, it was already 5pm. I was told that the temple closes at 5.30pm and there were only 30 minutes left for me to take photos.

I was back to Tsim Sha Tsui for the view at the Avenue of Stars, waited there till 8pm for the Symphony of Lights.
There are a lot of HK actors' palm prints including John Woo's on the floor along the Avenue of Stars..

Symphony of Lights begins...But to my disappointment, the music sucks! Singapore's Tree of Light is much better.
