Getting around Hong Kong Day 4 - Tian Tan Buddha

The last day of visit was to the Tian Tan Buddha's place, located at the Lautau Island which is quite near to the Airport. You have to travel to the last station which is Tung Chung thru the Tung Chung Line interchanged at "Central".
When you reach and exit the Tung Chung Station you will see this shopping mall.
To the left, you will see the Bus stop and the cable car. Both the cable car or the bus 23 will bring you to the Big Buddha's place. The bus is very much cheaper. You can also use your Octopus card if you take the bus.
This is where the bus stops and you can either head and walk up to see the Big Buddha or you can turn around wandering at the Ngong Ping Village first.

As time concerned, I chose to climb up to see the Big Buddha first. Before climbing up the stairs, there were some counters where you can buy the voucher for the vegetarian meal. As I was alone, I chose the 3 dishes set, ideal for 1 person, costs me HK$88. You should do that first as you can only enter the exhibition hall beneath the Big Buddha with that voucher. No photos allowed inside.

Devas offering to the Buddha.

This is the place where jossticks were lighten up.
Big bunch of jossticks
Some just do not know where the remaining bunch of jossticks should be placed, so they just placed it here.
Larger jossticks were placed here.
Paper burning after the prayers

I had my vegetarian meal here.

I was served a large bowl of soup at first. Wow, just imagine having a big bowl of soup for 1 person.
After that came 3 more dishes. The food really did fill up my empty stomach, a lot.

On the way back to Ngong Ping Village, I stopped at the restaurant called Tak Kei while waiting for the rain to stop.

I ordered the Shan Shui Tau Foo Fa at the Tak Kei place. I have never tasted such a smooth tau foo fa before in my life. So nice!

Ngong Ping Village
I went in to see what's with the Walking with Buddha. If you know welll the Story of the Buddha you will be a bit dissappointed as it is not what you expected. Despite the movie, I would say nice decorations.
Ngong Ping Cable Car centre for those who wants to take cable car back to Tung Chung Station
Finally, I headed back to Tsing Yi station and took the Airport Express train to the HKIA which costs me about HK$60.

Wonderful Trip,  I would say. though it is quite short.

Getting around Hong Kong Day 3 - Ocean Park

The Ocean Park ticket is not cheap (hk$320 per adult). I bought the ticket online and collected at the counter.

I got up early searching for Tsui Wah Restaurant at Tsim Sha Tsui but couldn't find, ended up having breakfast at Yuen Kee, Carnarvon Road. Had something like a Roti Bakar 'bun' type which is sliced into half with butter and milk. The 'tea' I ordered taste a bit different like "Teh tarik kurang manis" but is nice. They call it "Hong Kong milk tea"

After that I headed to Jordan to pack some egg tarts. They were just opposite the famous Australian restaurant. You can see a lot of people queueing up here.

Okay, it's time to go to the Ocean Park now. Again, by MTR, I got off at Admiralty and took the bus 629 to Ocean Park.

So all the way to Ocean Park non-stop.

This is entrance before the Main ticketing office.

I was given a map, a show schedule, some vouchers and a ticket upon checking in. Bags were checked so that I cannot bring any outside food into the park.

It is beautiful though, with fountain accompanied by the music the whole day.
You will see this also.

There are 2 sections, the Waterfront and the Summit. As the day is so hot, I decided to go to the Waterfront Aquarium first. There are a lot of people out there and it's a pain that every section you have to line up.

Oh Crap!!

Here you get to see some Stingrays before the exit
You can either take the Ocean Express Tram or the cable car to go to the other side, Summit.

I took the tram up to the Summit. This is how the Summit look like. Wow, they have few amusement rides.

What was he shooting at?
Shooting at the people down there!

At the Pacific Pier

Fighting for food

Penguins

Reminds me of Batman Returns.
They also have North Pole and South Pole animals dens. So it's basically like Zoo + amusement parks.

This is a Snowy Owl which i found in the North Pole section.

I took this up so that I can capture the entire view of the Ocean Park.
View of The Summit

After the whole afternoon at the Summit, I took the cable car back down to the Waterfront Section, where the last place of visit was the Secret of the Sea Horses.

People have been using seahorses for chinese medicine...

Around 4 - 6 pm, on and off, there were some drizzling. I left Ocean Park for dinner at the Central at 6pm.

On the journey back to the hotel, I stopped by this Yogurt shop and had a sip. When I ordered a small yogurt just to have a taste, the guy keep murmuring to his colleague, "It's difficult to make such a small one." I took the yogurt after it is done to the other side of the table which was empty to have a sip, but being advised to sit back to the place near the Yogurt stall as "you have to pay to sit here if you didn't order my food" by the other stalls selller. So I went back to the Yogurt's place, but the guy told me, "It's going to be closed". Oh, come on! I just wanna have a taste for a while and not for long. There were still other customers sitting and I was not even allowed to sit for awhile?  Hongkist are such an ego!!
Anyway, ignoring all the Honky behaviors, the Yogurt did taste good. It is like McDonald's kone, but the contents are Yogurt.
